What is the product?
The product I will be designing are three designs; one CD cover/album art, one Poster and one t-shirt with two sides. The product I will be using/ designing for is Snow patrol with the specific album being Chasing cars.
What are the designs?
I have three Ideas for designs. All are simplistic. The first design idea is taking advantage of a snowflake to represent the band themselves. They have previously use a snowflake in there other album art and posters, I think I could adjust this. In this first idea I'm taking a picture of the snowflake the band uses and triangulating it with a particular colour set to give it a cold effect. This will be the main asset used in the products. I then also use a very simple flat font for the text to fit with the theme of the design. For the second idea I am going to use a snowflake once again, however it will be overlaid in white on top of a blue to blend in with the background. The text I am going to use is simple with a ice effect on top of it to give it the cold look I am looking for. The third idea is going to be simple with a background that looks worn and inky. There will then be text in the middle that looks worn and as if it is disintegrating into the background.
Who is the audience?
The audience are mainly people between 18-28. This is because of when the band I made hit relevance which was in the mid 2000's. This means that the current audience has grown up with the band and enjoy the Alternative and Indie style of music they produce. These genres typically have a younger audience. They are also likely to be both male and female.
Why do my designs appeal to the audience?
My designs appeal to the audience due to the designs having both simplicity and a use of a set colour pallet. The simplicity appeals to the target audience due to the bold and modern look of the designs which is what the target audience wants to have. A clean design that is both simple and bold as well as portraying a bold and unique style that would appeal to the target audience.
